School Bus Safety Week

Published October 17, 2014

The responsibility of safely transporting students to and from school is an important one. Tri-Board Student Transportation Services oversees some 700 professional and caring school bus drivers transporting over 30,000 students to school every day- with safety and security, across the combined areas of the Algonquin & Lakeshore Catholic District School Board, Hastings and Prince Edward District School Board and the Limestone District School Board.

The week of October 20-24 has been designated School Bus Safety Week and Wednesday October 22 is School Bus Driver Appreciation Day.

Tri-Board encourages all motorists, cyclists and pedestrians, this week and always, to exercise great caution around school buses as we move students to and from school. We also encourage the broader community to show your appreciation to school bus drivers for the tireless and important work they do in transportation and in education.   Next week in our four counties, drivers, monitors and bus company employees will preside over a half million safely travelled kilometers. Please do your part to make it safe and successful!
